The Senior Clinical Application Director - Remote serves as a subject matter expert (SME) for Optum Integration Care Suite (OICS) and GuidingCare (GC), supporting implementations, enhancements, training, and ongoing client operations. This role partners closely with clients, clinical consultants, technical teams, and HealthEdge (HE) to design, configure, and optimize clinical workflows while driving adoption of best practice solutions across OICS applications, including member, provider portal, and mobile platforms.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
Requirements & Solution Design
Gather, analyze, and refine business and clinical requirements for new client implementations and post implementation enhancements
Partner with HealthEdge (HE) to refine solutions and ensure alignment with platform capabilities and best practices
Design application architecture and workflows that support optimal clinical and operational outcomes within OICS
Evaluate enhancement requests for upstream and downstream impacts and recommend appropriate solutions or workarounds
Review Statements of Work (SOWs) to ensure deliverables and contract compliance
Implementation & New Client Delivery
Support end-to-end OICS/GC implementations, including configuration, workflow design, and system transition planning
Partner with client stakeholders, clinical consultants, and technical teams to deliver integrations and APIs
Configure OICS modules during implementation and coordinate testing and validation activities
Design, configure, and test client letters, including fulfillment integrations (fax, letters, reconciliation)
Provide product demonstrations of OICS/GC capabilities during implementations and RFP processes
Coordinate client sign off for implementations, new functionality, and defect resolution
Training & Knowledge Enablement
Serve as OICS/GC Subject Matter Expert (SME) for clinical workflows and application functionality
Create and maintain training materials, job aids, and documentation
Deliver Train the Trainer sessions, ad hoc training, and HE release training for new features
Provide ongoing user guidance on OICS/GC applications, including member, provider portal, and mobile applications
Support knowledge transfer (KT) to application consultants, technical resources, and client teams
Client Maintenance & Ongoing Support
Provide post implementation configuration and ongoing client support
Troubleshoot client questions and application issues, coordinating with Account Managers and HE as needed
Perform OICS/GC testing for updates and enhancements
Review compliance documentation and support audits or regulatory requests
Consult with clients to help them understand how the applications function, think, and support next step workflows
Identify gaps in processes and recommend continuous improvement opportunities
Change Requests (CRs) & Enhancements
Manage HealthEdge Change Requests (CRs), including intake, analysis, and tracking
Maintain accounting of CR hours by client and request
Implement new features and coordinate HE monthly showcases for CM/UM/AG
Provide level of effort (LOE) estimates for enhancements and new functionality
Open and manage Jira tickets for configuration and enhancement work
Defect Management
The Clinical Application Consultant serves as a subject matter expert (SME) for Optum Integration Care Suite (OICS) and GuidingCare (GC), supporting implementations, enhancements
This role partners closely with clients and clinical consultants to document business requirements, configure clinical workflows, test and report issues to HE

Required Qualifications:
8+ years of healthcare experience within Payer or Provider space
6+ years of Health Information Management, Clinical or Business Analysis
3+ years of hands-on, recent experience with HealthEdge Guiding Care application
Consulting firm experience including engagement leadership, client relationship management, business development
Familiarity with a variety of problem-solving approaches and frameworks
Proficiency in MS Office Suite - Word, PowerPoint, Excel
Proven ability to drill down to the root cause of issues and be creative in problem solving
Proven ability and established track record of leading multiple projects and initiatives
Proven ability to travel up to 50% when required
Preferred Qualifications:
6+ years of experience in management consulting
Experience and highly proficient in managing projects that achieved budget and timeline goals

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $134,600 to $230,800 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
